BassCat Back as BASS goes bigger in 2017!

IMG_7350BassCat Boats is back as the headline sponsor of the 2017 BASS Pro Series. After a successful freshman year BassCat Australia’s Craig Simmons was lining up to throw his support to the revitalised bass tournament scene. “The freshwater guys have really taken to our brand over the past 12 months, we’ve had exceptional interest from the boats we’ve delivered to anglers throughout 2016, so of course we’re thrilled to be the headlining sponsor for next year’s expanded series.”

Yes, you read that right, 2017 sees the BassCat BASS Pro Series expand to six qualifying rounds throughout the year, culminating in the BASS Pro Grand Final. The extra two qualifying events have been slotted in after the successful trial of the double-header format that has been widely accepted in ABT BREAM circles. “The NSW double-header on the Hunter Valley impoundments of St Clair and Glenbawn was a runaway success this year, so we thought why not double down in 2017, and give both states a bite of the cherry,” said ABT Tournament Director Simon Goldsmith.

The 2017 BassCat BASS Pro Grand Final will also be a combination of rivers and impoundments, after the 2016 Spotters Richmond River BASS Pro was a hit amongst anglers, sponsors, and public alike.

So where will you find the ABT trailer looking for Australian bass in 2017?

“Whoever wins that title in 2017 is going to have definitely earned it,” explained BassCat’s Craig Simmons, who’s no slouch when it comes to tournament results himself.
