The 2014 BARRA Tour heads into a new year with a new sponsor at the helm. Rapala, one of the most dominant lures on the tour in recent years, takes the reins of Australia’s premier barra fishing series.
“There’s been few lure brands hotter on the barra scene over the last five years than Rapala, so to have them onboard as the barra tour naming sponsor is a big coup for ABT, and a big win for anglers and barra fishing,” explains ABT’s Simon Goldsmith.
For series naming sponsor Rapala this year’s tour is a coming of age and chance to strengthen their reputation and popularity as one of the must-have lure brands.
“Never before has the Rapala brand been so well suited to the avid barramundi angler than it is today”, explains Rapala’s Chris Beldon. “With innovative concepts such as the incredibly tough XXX-Rap series and subtle BX range, we’ve got the lure for any barra in any situation. It’s only fitting that the most capable barramundi lure brand should align itself closer with the 2014 BARRA tour; and we are very excited to do so!”
This year’s Rapala BARRA Tour will once again feature the popular teams format introduced last year, and while the schedule (dates & session times) is still in the planning stage, the event venues have been locked in with Peter Faust, Kinchant, and Teemburra Dams all playing host to a round each.
