The battle for state supremacy isn’t just restricted to the rugby league field and for breamers with kayak fishing in their veins attention turns to the NSW State Title round of 2014 Daiwa-Hobie Kayak BREAM Series on Lake Macquarie this weekend.
While over paid rugby league stars are licking their wounds and nursing their hangovers after the first match of the State of Origin series on Wednesday night kayakers will be in full preperation for one of the must win events of the year.
A new venue for the kayak tour for many anglers it’ll be a nervous start to see what Lake Mac has within its waters. For anglers well versed it’ll be high expectations and anticipation of some potentially big bags.
With summer long behind us and the hot shallow water bite a distant memory a deeper bite is on the cards. With hot water often the key to success on Lake Macquarie during the cooler months the power station at the lower end of the lake, and the all too regular tournament winning location, Chain Valley Bay, are destined to be popular.
