The weather the week preceeding the event had been what could only be described as ordinary with hundreds of millimeters of rain falling and making the waterway look more like a chocolate milkshake, and competitors who had the opportunity to prefish all said it was going to be a very tough asignment for Teams to get their bag of Bream.
The Saturday morning greeted the 71 Boating Teams and 20 Kayak Anglers with cold conditions with clear skys and afterwards with a beautiful sunny day, with the same again on the Sunday.
I would again like to say a big thank you to all those that competed and showed their continued support for this great Series, as it is only getting bigger and better as every Round passes and the positive feedback that is filtering back is greatly appreciated.
The final winner in the Boating section was Team LOFT with Paul Holmes & Greg Rooke with a 10/10 bag totalling an amazing 10.025kg, second went to the Team Compleat Angler Batemans Bay/Shimano with Jason Mayberry & Terry Parmenter with a 10/10 bag totalling 9.380kg, third went to Team Salt N Fresh with Garry King & Brett Dinham with a 10/10 bag totalling 9.230kg, Fourth went to Team Reel Steel with Gary Carruthers & Steve Allen with a 10/10 bag totalling 9.200kg and fifth with Team Gamakatsu/Atomic with Paul Malov & Alex Franchuk with a 10/10 bag totally 9.165kg.
In the boating section 53 Teams achieved their full bag of 10 fish over the 2 day event and there where a total of 622 fish for a combined weight of 460.850kg for 142 anglers.
The Hobie Big Bream prize was taken out by Greg Rooke with a solid 1.455kg fish.
The cash payouts for the top 5 where: 1st $4,150, 2nd $2,076, 3rd $1,038, 4th $620 & 5th $416.
The Kayak section was won by Team Kevo – Kevin Varty with a bag of 6/6 totalling a very impressive 6.425kg, second went to Team Atomic Gamakatsu – Andrew Death with a bag of 6/6 totalling 5.285kg and third went to Team Mylureshop.com – Scott Marcinkowski with a bag of 6/6 totalling 5.075kg.
In the Kayak section there where a total of 80 fish for a combined weight of 58.330kg for 20 anglers.
The BCF Big Bream prize was taken out by Kevin Varty with another solid 1.455kg fish.
Cash payouts for the top 3 where: 1st $858, 2nd $437 & 3rd $265.
