27 June 2014After short absence, the iconic Sailing Scene store in Mona Vale will again open its doors this weekend. This time marine industry icon Andrew Brown is heading up the team that will supply and service the brilliant Hobie range of products including the full range of Hobie kayaks, Hobie sailboats and Hobie SUPs that it seems every second person is raving about.“The Hobie guys were really keen we got this location going again” said Andrew. “There is such an interest now, especially with the kayaks which are so popular with campers and anglers and the Hobie SUP’s are going off around here. The Hobie head office has received so many enquiries… It’s about time there was local distribution and, importantly, service”.“People from all over Sydney come to the Northern Beaches to fish, sail and SUP” said Andrew. “Even though the doors weren’t officially open we were still getting people from as far away as Penrith knocking and wanting some help”.For the anglers and paddlers, each Saturday morning there will be demos available at Winnererremy Bay, Bayview where you can get to know the range of Hobie  SUP’s and Hobie Kayaks including the remarkable MirageDrive® – pedalling instead of paddling! There’ll be experts on hand to answer your questions and you can push off into the bay and get a real sense of what Hobie watercraft are all about.

In addition, the peninsulas many multi-hull sailors will be happy to see Sailing Scene back. “This was always the home for Hobies” said Andrew. “We’ll stock the full range of Hobie Waves, Hobie Getaways, and the legendary Hobie 16’s as well as the incredibly cool Hobie Adventure Island and Hobie  Tandem Island outriggers.

Sailing Scene will provide a full parts and warranty support for all products as well as the myriad optional extras available – ropes and shackles to fish-finders and paddles.

“Service is what we’ll be known for” said Andrew. “No one leaves here without instruction on how to get the most out their new toy. We’ll even show them the best way to get it on the roof of their car”.
