Western Australian tournament breamer Callum Dowell has claimed the biggest non-boater prize on the Australia bream circuit, securing the champion non-boater crown at the Hawkesbury River Grand Final of this year’s 13 Fishing BREAM Series.
The only WA angler to qualify for the east coast final, Dowell not only claimed the biggest win in his tournament career, he also won himself a 115hp Mercury FourStroke outboard – the new wonder motor of the legendary Mercury outboard range.
“To win the biggest title in tournament breaming is more than I could ever have hoped for, and to now be the very proud owner of a new 115 Mercury FourStroke is the stuff of dreams,” explained Callum.
A new outboard needs a new boat and Callum’s already eyeing a new hull for his Mercury.
“I’m looking at my options so I can get the Mercury fitted, set-up and ready to hit the 2015 tournament trail,” Callum said.
The latest incarnation of Mercury’s legendary FourStroke outboard range, Callum’s 115hp delivers market leading technology, power and performance.
At 2.1L, the new Mercury 115 delivers up to 23% more torque over previous FourStroke models, is 9kgs lighter than the next closest competitor, and has unbelievable fuel efficiency.
“Clearly, Callum is an exceptional fisher so it’s only right he’s going to be using an exceptional engine,” said Mercury Marine’s Director of Outboards, Nicholas Webb. “Congratulations on winning the engine mate, and I know you are going to get many, many years of excellent service out of it.”
