These engines have been designed to provide increased durability and longer engine life in commercial applications.
The 150hp SeaPro is currently being shipped around the world from Mercury’s hi-tech manufacturing plant in Fond du Lac, Wisconsin.
The 75hp, 90hp and 115hp engines will become available in April.
SeaPro engines with robust high displacement and low-weight design, deliver the performance required by commercial users and provide increased durability. All SeaPro engines feature higher-durometer upper mounts that help decrease lifecycle costs.
“With SeaPro we have taken our newest mid-range FourStroke outboards to the next level of engine durability and fuel efficiency, without sacrificing power, as well as included specific features for commercial users,” said Nicholas Webb, Mercury’s Director of Engine Products and Marketing.
“For example, the new gearcases which let you drain the oil without having to remove the boat from the water so servicing costs are lower, and the upper mounts which are twice as stiff as those on recreational models and deliver greater durability.”
Mercury’s larger Command Thrust gearcase, which creates a bigger footprint in the water and provides more leverage to control the boat, is standard on the 75, 90 and 115hp SeaPro models. Its larger torpedo, combined with a bigger-diameter prop, can lift a heavy boat onto plane more easily and hold it there at lower speeds without impacting top speed.
All SeaPro models feature Mercury’s 2 year/1000 hours Commercial Warranty and are backed by the largest service network in the industry. A pictorial Owner’s Manual and pictorial under-cowl maintenance decals also simplify ownership.
SeaPro engines come with a water-separating fuel filter and SmartCraft SC1000 SystemTach gauge to offer the commercial user a complete engine package.
The gearcase oil drain and fill is in the torpedo, allowing the engine to be tilted for easy drainage and refilling without the need to move the boat from the water and also without the need to remove the propeller to change the gearcase oil.
