10 Reasons to be excited for the 2016 Costa BREAM Series
The Costa BREAM Series is back to eight rounds in 2016. ABT are stoked about the upcoming series and you should be too! Check back over the next two weeks for daily updates.
Going all country and Western
The return of the Costa BREAM Series to Western Australia is one of the major milestones for the 2016 season. The ABT tour hasn’t visited the western shores of the country in three years. The last time ABT were there Warren Carter travelled west and took home the title on the Blackwood River.
Since then, WA breaming has continued to produce quality bags and consistent anglers at their regional level events, and they are chomping at the bit to compete on the ABT stage. WA’s own 2014 ABT BREAM Grand Final non-boater champion Callum Dowell loves the fact that he will be able to compete in his home state.
“I’m so excited to have the ABT tour come back to WA, we have some of the best bream fishing in the country and some of the best anglers. It’s nice to be able to showcase what we have over here on the other side of the country.”
WA breamers have a history of high achievements when they travel east to compete for the Grand Final title. Adding to Callum’s non-boater triumph in 2014, Ian Sewell almost took out the 2008 BREAM Grand Final on the unfamiliar waters of the Gold Coast and Moreton Bay, proving that the western state produces some truly talented anglers.
The WA round of the Costa BREAM Series is scheduled for the weekend of the 9-10th of April.
