The BassCat BASS Pro Series received a bit of a facelift for 2016. A new, shared weight format similar to the format used for the BREAM Grand Final will see a change in tactics and the first chance for anglers’ to weigh a 12/12 limit over the weekend, rewarding anglers who are catching quality and quantity throughout a tournament session.

Over the next week we will be posting daily updates, check back from 8am each day to read a new piece.

#5 Bassman AOY

Iconic with Australian fisherman, Bassman will headline the ABT BASS Pro AOY for both the boaters and non-boaters.
Angler of the Year for the BASS Pro Series is calculated on your best three out of four qualifying rounds.

Bassman have put up some seriously good packs for the AOY prizes this year. If you happen to win one of the events, you won’t be left short for tackle anytime soon. Jam packed full of their popular spinnerbaits like the new Shorty, these packs will stock you out with almost everything you need for a successful year on the water.

Last year Victorian BREAM Series guru Warren Carter broke the points record with an astounding 297/300. Warren’s quick rise to the BASS record books comes as no surprise; he’s been one of the best and most consistent bream anglers in the country.

The AOY race will be hotly contested this year with previous AOY champion and record holder Dan Clancy returning. Back-to-back non-boater Grand Final champion Shaun Falkenhagen has recently acquired a bass boat and will be moving off the back deck in 2016 much to the delight of his non-boating competitors. 2015 Lake Glenbawn BASS Pro non-boater champion Owen McPaul, has also moved to the front of the boat and is entered as a boater for BassCat Lake Glenbawn BASS Pro in early March.

Some old faces and some new faces will grace the start line for the BassCat BASS Pro Series, and the two anglers that finish on-top will be taking home a pile of gear courtesy of Bassman.
