Not surprisingly, Mitchell Cone is leading the Boater AOY race, closely followed by Peter Phelps and Craig Simmons. Long time BREAM non-boater Simon Johnson is leading the non-boaters AOY race, followed by Cameron Ley and Robert Tilley.

Simon Johnson is also leading the Edge Rods BASS Rookie of the Year race, courtesy of his 191 points. Remember, the Rookie of the Year race is contested between boaters and non-boaters that are fishing their first year of ABT BASS Pro competition.

The Austackle BASS Pro Rankings have also been updated, and Steve ‘Killer’ Kanowski still holds down number one position. Due to the shortened tour of 2014, Steve has not dropped an event despite missing the start of the 2016 BassCat BASS Pro Series. That all changes now, with two events down in 2016 and the three events we held in 2014, we’re back to 10 tournaments in two years, so anglers better catch them if they want to keep improving their rankings through the 2016 season. Mark Lennox has made the jump to over 200 points and is within striking distance as Kanowski begins to drop the finishes from his golden era of 2014/15.

What’s Next?

There’s plenty on the line for BASSers throughout 2016, with the Bassman Angler of the Year and Edge Rods Rookie of the Year. We’re looking forward to watching the tables shuffle as we edge closer to the 2016 BassCat BASS Pro Grand Final.
