Australian Bass Tournament Presents

2021 Rapala BASS Queensland Open (30/31 October)

Session 2 - Sunday 31st October, Wivenhoe Dam

3:00pm - We can officially congratulate Stephen Kanowski who is crowned the 2021 Rapala BASS Queensland Open!

1:30pm -
Anglers are all in and it's time to cross check all the catches and make sure we haven't missed any bass.  Things are looking good for Mick Johnson to take home the big cheque.

12noon -
The Live Stream didn't quite go to plan...apologies for viewers.  A great cross to Carl in the US and we got out on the water with Steve Morgan but weather conditions didn't make it easy for anglers to get involved and our stream at the ramp got cut.  Next time!

8:00am -
The first catch of the day has been logged from Steve Kanowski doing a little bit of work to close the gap between himself and first placed Mick Johnson.

6:15am -
Anglers are all checked out and the second session of the 2021 Rapala BASS Queensland Open is underway.   11/12 boats have observers on them today.  We're busy getting ready for the LIVE show which will kick off at 10am (local time).

Session 1 - Saturday 30th October, Somerset Dam

2:00pm -
Anglers were all back by 1:30pm and catches have all been cross checked and our day one leader is Mick Johnson with a five bass limit for 8.883kg.

12:00pm -
There's 90mins left in the session and we have 10 anglers on the scoreboard.  Matthew Langford is still in the lead.

10:30 -
Matthew Langford has taken the lead.  Steve Kanowski needs to upgrade the smallest few fish in his bag for another 100g to reclaim the top spot.  His smallest is currently a 1.118kg (39cm) bass.

9:45am -
Back to the fishing! Steve Kanowski is upgrading and has over 8kg for his best five bass so far this morning.  Matthew Langford is stepping it up and has a 5 bass limit for 7kg.  9/12 anglers are now on the scoreboard with at least one BASS for the session.

9:30am
- The ABT ground crew just spent the last hour with the team from Somerset & Wivenhoe Fish Stocking Association releasing 97,000 bass fingerlings at the event site.  Look forward to seeing these caught at tournaments in years to come!

8:00am -
Half of the anglers have now logged at least one bass for the session.

7:45am - We are 90mins into the first session and Stephen Kanowski is off to a cracking start.  First to send through a bag of bass this morning via the app for nearly 8kg.  The rest of the field has some work to do.

6:00am
- Check out what went into the awesome welcome kits every angler competing this weekend received at the event briefing.  A reel and a stack of lures for everyone.
