12:55pm - The gap at the top of the leaderboard is closing in. Shane Wolhuter just upgraded and is now only 80g behind leader Blake O'Grady. There's 1hour 5mins left in the session.
12:20pm- More movement at the top of the leaderboard. Shane Wolhuter has jumped into second place, only 230g behind first placed Blake O'Grady.
11:50am - It's been a little quite the last hour on the scoreboards. Blake O'Grady has just logged his fourth fishing of the day putting him back into first place approx 300g ahead of Jamie McKeown. Just over two hours of fishing time left.
10:30am - More limits on the scoreboard. Jamie McKeown has taken the lead with a five fish limit for the day taking him to an event total of 10/10 for 5.777kg. Puts him ahead of Blake O'Grady who still only has three today for an event total of 8/10 for 5.699kg. It's getting interesting.
8:50am - Five anglers out of the eleven have recorded their limits for the day. Blake O'Grady's lead is narrowing but he only has 2/5 of his fish for the day so far with plenty of time left to get the job done.
7:45am - Blake O'Grady further extends his lead with a nice first bream landed for the day registering just under a kilo.
7:30am - A few early catches coming through today. Looks like Darren 'Dizzy' Borg will be the first with a limit this morning.
7:00am - A perfect morning at Cleveland for the Start of Session 2 of the 2021 Samaki BREAM Queensland Open, all eleven anglers are headed back out on to Moreton Bay to find five more big bream.
START SESSION 2
8:00pm - Here's the Day One Highlights for your viewing pleasuring featuring 7/11 of the event anglers:
5:00pm - Results have been cross checked and Blake O'Grady is leading at the end of Day 1. Luke Rogan is in 2nd and there's barley 70grams between 3rd, 4th, 5th and 6th. It's going to be an interesting day tomorrow!
1:00pm - There’s one hour left in the session and Blake O’Grady has continued to secure his day one lead. O’Grady now has five bream for nearly 4kg.
11:30am - O'Grady is still in the lead with 8 out of the 11 anglers now on the board with their 5/5 limits for the session.
11:00am - First limit over 3kg! Blake O'Grady makes it 5/5 registering at 3.467. This puts him nearly a kilo ahead of second place.
10:30am - Some movement on the leaderboard. Jamie McKeown has moved into first place with 5 bream limit registering at 2.490kg. Tristan Taylor is in second with 2.484kg. Catches on the scoreboard from all but two anglers so far this morning.
9:30am - More limits on the scoreboard. Shane Wolhuter, Jamie McKeown, Peter Cashman and Tristan Taylor all with 5/5. Shane Wolhuter has jumped to the top of the leaderboard with 2.068kg.
9:05am - We have two limits on the board. Peter Cashman and Tristan Taylor both landing their 5/5 in the last couple of minutes. Time to start upgrading!
9:00am - Two hours into the session and we are yet to see an angler catch their 5/5 limit. Tristan Taylor and Peter Cashman are close with four each on the scoreboard but it is the angler who put the first fish on the board today Blake O'Grady who is currently sitting at the top of the table with 2 bream registering at 1.900kg. He most recent catch, from only minutes ago, nearly needed a bigger ruler - see below!
7:25am - Blake O'Grady is the first angler on the scoreboard with a 31cm bream, not a bad start to the event!
7:00am - Anglers have left Spinnaker Sound Marina at Bribie Island for the start of the 2021 Samaki BREAM Queensland Open. Here's your starting line up:

This event is still proceeding. The event will be conducted in accordance with current COVID Safe Guidelines and Restrictions as outlined by the Queensland State Government. ALL Anglers will be required to wear a face mask at the start/conclusion of the sessions (at all times other then when fishing solo during the session).

START LOCATION:
There will be two start locations (one per day of the event).
One day the session will start from Spinnaker Sound Marina (Bribie Island)
One day the session will start from Cleveland VMR Boat Ramp.
We will confirm which day we will use each location at the event briefing (held online see note below) - noting that the roughest weather day will be held out of Bribie.
NOTE: Rough weather plan - If the weather forecast is for 20+knots the Cleveland start may be moved to the Port of Brisbane and the Bribie Island start day may see the arena limited to the Pumicestone Passage. We will confirm this at the event briefing.
ENTRY FEE:
$550, this is a boater only tournament
PRE FISH BAN:
No fishing from Monday 2nd August to Monday 9th August 2021.

FORMAT:
The 2021 Samaki BREAM Queensland Open will be run on the ABT Tournament Series app.
Here is the link to the instruction video for the app, which can be downloaded for free at the Apple App Store or from Google Play:
The App gives us real, live scoreboards throughout the event and is an important part of marketing this event to spectators, so it’s important to become familiar with it. The week before the Open you will be able to practice with it and make sure it works well on your smartphone.
Glory Photos from the app will be used in the live coverage, so please take them wherever possible.
RULES
• Rules mirror those of the Daiwa BREAM Series.
• This event is 100% app based - run on the ABT Tournament Series App.
• 5 fish bag limit per angler per session.
• Rough weather may see the arena reduced to the Brisbane River (only).
OBSERVERS
ABT will allocate camerapersons or observers to many of the boats on the first day of competition, as the tournament progresses, observers will be put on leading boats. Observers are allowed to assist only with App data entry and interview camerawork. They are not able to assist with anything to do with fishing, including netting fish or operating the boat.
